Armed Forces Day

It was Armed Forces day across the UK today. There were parades across the country to pay tribute to the country's armed forces both past and present.
I don't normally do a post on a Saturday but had taken the family along to George Square to see what was happening in Glasgow for the Armed Forces parade. Here are a few of the images I caught. Unfortunately there was some trouble there today which kicked off just a few yards from where we were standing. Had to lead my scared and bewildered family away from the square with countless police cars screaming in the other direction.
I do love Glasgow but was left feeling sad for my home city today.

These are some snaps anyway...

A sign encouraging people to go Commando!!
Usually too cold in Glasgow for that :)

The Big Guns out in George Square
RAF March past

The Armed Forces doing some City Sightseeing.

The band in the square.

And again...

The Veterans.
This was the main point of today. To say thank you for the sacrificies others had made.
Was very humbling to see these men and women march past.

Nimrod over Glasgow.
The RAF flypast.

The Cenotaph much later. Crossed back through the Square on the way home much later. Was quiet and lots of police. But wanted to take a photo of the Cenotaph with the flowers in front.

So wasn't the day I hoped it would be but hope you liked some of the images anyway.
Be well, be happy!!
