Well certainly picked a fine day for my first post. Glorious sunshine in "Raintown". Route today was got the bus to the bus station then down Buchanan Street with a wee detour round Royal Exchange Square then along Gordon Street, through Central Station, along Wellington Street then down along Cadogan Street. Went same way back home but cut through Royal Exchange Square to Queen Street then up through George Square and got train home. Remind me to charge up my camera batttery before I go next time cause stopped working in George Square just when the alien spaceship landed. Ok that never happened but it could have and I would have been kicking myself...

Anyway .. here are the actual photos of what I did see ...

Just wanted to start with this old favourite landmark as I have always loved this scuplture. Just so much fun and dynamic and works on lots of levels with the running for the bus thing. Need to find out who the artist was one day and post it here.

Another old favourite now. The view down Buchanan Street from the Galleries. Not a ground breaking piece of photography but I really do love standing here looking down at the crowds buzzing around. I've been lucky enough to visit many great cities in the world but I still think Buchanan Street is a special place and comparable with the greatest streets in the world. So there :)

Paris ? Milan ? ... nope just the good people of Glasgow enjoying the good weather.

Now people have told me that the council no longer take the traffic cone back off Wellington's head. But that's not true. See. No cone. However not to be outdone the cunning people of Glasgow have managed to staple a seagull to his head in it's place. Cone watch is going to be part of my tour from now on.

Felt bit sorry for this guy. He was all dressed up like a penguin on hottest day of the year and had nae customers in his Rogano champagne garden. If I win the Euro lottery tonight I promise I will sit here next week and sip champagne just to help this guy out.

A piper. Wouldn't be a walk through Glasgow without finding a piper. In fact I think the council should make sure there is always a piper in Buchanan Street by law. This bloke was actually really good.

George Square and the City Chambers on a sunny day. Once again comparable to any of the great buildings in the world. Though sky not normally this blue behind it. Bonus point for knowing who is at the top of the column ... and no it's not Nelson!!!

Ok that's a long enough posting for now. Broke myself in gently with some of the old favourite photos today. As get braver may start to include more actual people ...
