The church steeple quiz... the answers and a winner...

Sorry once again for the delay in the answers for last weeks quiz. But here they are.

Now at first I though this might be quite easy. All the steeples are quite distinct. However that's what spending 7 weeks looking at buildings does to you. :)

It really was a tricky one now I look at it. The worthy winner is therefore Anne Watson who got 11 out of 12. This was achieved by trawling through all of the previous posts in the blog. Think I might need to come up with a proper prize for this one to reward all that effort!

Here are the answers:

1. Ramshorn Church (Theatre) in Ingram Street.
2. Tron Church (Theatre) in Trongate.
3. Glasgow Cathedral
4. Saint Aloysius in Garnethill
5. Park Parish Church (the white one you can see on the hill at Park Circus)
6. Saint George's Tron Church (a favourite of mine as you know :) )
7. The top of Charing Cross Mansions. This is not a church steeple at all.
8. Oran Mor at end of Byres Road (formerly Kelvinside Parish church)
9. Trinity Tower (the other towers you can see on the hill at Park Circus)
10. Saint Andrews in the Square
11. Saint Vincent Street Church
12. Saint Columbus Church also in Saint Vincent Street

Hope you enjoyed these photos of the variety of steeples around the city, even if the quiz was a bit hard. Glasgow doesn't have a skyline as such but these buildings give it the closest thing to it.

Be well, be happy!!
